Overhaul & reconditioning
Exhaust valve bodies
Reconditioning exhaust valve bodies restores seat tightness and proper operation of the cooling water circuit, which is often obstructed around the crown and inlet openings.
Procedure
- 1Cutting and removal of the valve seat, revealing obstructions in the water circuit.
- 2Thorough cleaning of the obstructed passages.
- 3Welding of a new seat with Stellite applied to the body.
- 4Compatibility analysis between the new seat material and the original body.
- 5Determination of welding parameters and of heat treatments before and after the operation.
- 6Metal spraying of sensitive wear zones to prevent metal erosion.
- 7Rigorous checks against the original specifications.
